Yes, forum is indeed very dead. I don’t know what has caused it. Let me list some factors and invite others to vote or add another factor they think is causing it.
So let’s go voting guys, this is our EVM and overseas have equal right to vote. How is that !!!

My pick:
Added comment: more like human nature, usual discussion on investment advice, which will be profitable are very valid questions and have every right. Going by human nature, same nature of questions years and years and years makes it boring to have same responses. More predictions, analytics, unusual insights can revive it.
Added comment: Yes Its the era of Instant Messengers with voice, more human touch and much more convenient and the reason mails, forums, blogs being replaced with IM apps.

Yes, politics and name calling etc. is pretty much our national thing. One dedicated thread to have all political bashing is not a bad idea but when the name calling and bigotry creeps into every other forum that for sure is a turn off.

Main reason due to bigots & ignorants…
There was a time when this forum used to be red hot. We had members like Nasir Khan, Pakistani-1 and many others. I think Isloo1 is also an old veteran.
Asif dear, yes, I’ve been around this forum since time immemorial.
Demise of this forum is caused by all of the 4 factors. In the end, quality of discussion declined and value of information eroded.
Sophisticated and polite dialogues were over-powered by “empty-on-info-but-full-of-praises” posts but no body resisted. Political bickering, biased opinion and rigid thoughts became acceptable norms. Poor administration by Zameen and its disastrous switchover to new version was also a huge turn-off.
In the end, it is a dying forum.
In general blogs, web sites are a medium that is about half a decade old. Instant Messengers with voice, web, and better human touch and feel are becoming popular.
More over, same questions on which investment good or bad for years on become usual and boring. More spontaneous threads like RRR, PKR devaluation were hit but got saturated. Unless more innovative topics and discussions web forums and pages fade away quick.
Yes isloo1, you are right. In those days the quality of discussion was very high, just like people have in developed countries, we used to learn so much from each other. The crackdown (if you remember) by Zameen admin was a major blow to the forum I remember, I think they deleted/locked many accounts and threads/posts so people left it.
You are right, but as it is in our society, IM/phone numbers and personal details are highly misused so many prefer this kind of forum also.
I think Zameen admin should encourage the use of this forum aggressively so that more people join and we have more high quality discussion on real estate. There are millions of people who would like to benefit from good advice on various matters all the time.

This forum is dead not because there is not much to discuss, but because there is no interest by industry experts in keeping it alive. Secondly, there are no experts from the Lahore property market. We need people of Lahore origin who can help people understand the property market. Islamabad people are, and so are other regions. I have not come across even one post from the Karachi market, which is a real estate hub.
The WhatsApp groups are all good, but when there are 300 people in a group, if even everyone replies once, that will be 300 texts to skim through, and not all will be relevant.
This forum is specific with no nuisance of continuous beeping of the phone.

This was the only best avenue to discuss property related stuff but unfortunately it has gone dead due to lack of interest by the admin team !!
What’s app group info is too liquid and hard to catch up and such forums can’t be replaced by those groups.
It is high time for Zameen management to get back to this serious effort !
