Shahbaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab has expressed his hopes that the newly launched Metro Bus Service Project will be a paramount contribution to government's effort in improving people' living standards. As per him, the launch of this bus service will not only offer people with a quality and speedy alternative to the obsolete ways of commuting within the city but also bring a revolutionary change for the local transportation industry.
He expressed his opinion on the Metro Bus Service Project while addressing a meeting where several other important officials were also present. LDA director general, chief traffic officer, Planning & Development Chairman, Asad Ashraf, Hafiz Mian Nauman, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti and several other Punjab Assembly Members were also present in the meeting.
As per the CM, a thirty two km lane would be built for the new MBS which will connect Kahna with Shahadra. This lane would be built in accordance with the international building standards. For timely completion of the project, the CM gave special instructions to the concerned departments. Complementing Turkey's role and collaboration for the completion of various development projects, he added that although the new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system would be a gift for the city of Lahore from the government of Punjab yet it would have not been possible had it not been because of the help of Turkey.
He also said that Turkey would help build a connecting track for Kahna and Kalma Chowk as well. Apart from this project, the CM also disclosed that the government was planning to build a parking plaza on Ferozepur Road. This parking plaza would ensure that the flow of traffic is not hindered by the cars parked across the road. He ordered that the work on all of these projects should continue without interruption. He further added that it was his duty as the CM of Punjab to ensure that transparency and high standards are met for the speedy completion of these development projects.
