The days of Govt. housing societies like DHA and CDA are over! It’s the age of big private corporate housing societies like Bahria, MPCHS etc. now because Govt. type housing societies are almost bankrupt¦ like govt. of Pakistan e.g. CDA is almost bankrupt and even DHA is doing partnerships with Bahria as they do not have the financial muscle to complete their own projects!
For the most part, I have to agree with you. Bankruptcy is an increasing problem for almost all government institutes. As for the partnership betwixt Bahria and DHA, I think it’s a win-win situation for both of them. With all the cases filed against Bahria, it could use the credibility of DHA whereas DHA could use all the help it can get financially. It’s a good partnership and might as well give birth to an exceptional self sufficient society. I’m getting my hopes up and hopefully won’t be disappointed.

As much as I respect your opinion, I disagree with it slightly. I think the biggest beneficiary of this partnership would be the people of Karachi. It is no secret how their day to day lives are plagued by the tanker mafia. Power may not be much of an issue there but the fact that DHA City Karachi is, at least on paper, designed to be a self-sufficient society means that people in Karachi have a fair chance of ridding themselves of the tanker mafia and that's great. :)
Public institutions even bankrupt are still the richest institutions in any country. So no private company regardless how good is any comparison.
Basically the philosophy of both are different, private companies be it Bahria or any other housing society or firm have a very commercial approach as compared to public sectors projects and firms. They make money from every grain of sand unlike public sector.

So do you think buying a property in Nowshera Armour Colony is a good idea! A 3 bedroom house cost appropriately 33 thousand pounds is this an average price for houses on a 10 marla plot also how safe is it and was it affected by the 2010 floods?
I'm having difficulty in having my question answered. Can any one advise me as I am writing in different sections of this forum but know one can tell me how much a 3 bed double storey 10 marla house is going for in Armour Colony. I have not got much knowledge in this area but I know its in Nowshera near where a new university is building, it's far below from the sea and it's near the Pakhtun area and train station. And a new road is building near it what can you guys tell me about this anything and everything is helpful.

Really sorry for the inconvenience and the delay. The thing is that realtors in Nowshera and KPK generally are not internet savvy and mostly do not use internet. Had any concerned agent seen your query, he would have responded.
As for myself, I am in Lahore and do not know anything about Nowshera or KPK. The data of Zameen however shows that the price of a 10 marla, 3 bedroom house in Armour Colony hovers between Rs 2,800,000-4,000,000.. This should give you some idea about the rates of property there.
Nowshera, Armour Colony is not completely safe. I looked up on the web and some part of the Armour Colony was affected in 2010 floods. I have no clue how safe phase i is.

I would like to know how much is this in pounds as I cannot convert the rupees into pound.
The colony is now getting populated as the land are now being built on. So does this mean prices will go up?
I don't live in Pakistan but i have heard that the Armour Colony is a very nice place and is getting popular as a new university is getting built there. Have you got any new news on this as I cannot get any info since I have no family there.
The property prices are generally on the rise. So this is probably the trend for Amour Colony as well.
Rs 2,800,000-4,000,000 is roughly £18,200-25,600.

Thanks for the reply, the property a friend of mine has brought is a beautiful 3bedroom double storey house with a insuite with each bedroom.
The design of the house is quiet modern whatever is down stairs is upstairs, there is a lounge and a nice size kitchen . They brought it in the Armour Colony phase1 and the property is on a 10 marla plot and they brought it for approx £32 thousand pounds.
Do you think this is reasonable price? And by the way how is the weather there as in England it's freezing.

£32k, I think is a pretty reasonable price for a new, double storey house. So if you find something at around the same sum, you should grab the deal.
Here in Lahore, which is where i am, it's only beginning to get a bit chilly. It drizzled yesterday so I guess winters are finally here. In Nowshera, it would be colder I think since it's in KPK. For you, i think the major difference between here and there would be sunshine. You can get loads of that over here.
Thats good to hear especially land it self is in the region of £20,000. Yes I love the weather back in Pakistan but not in the summer!
How much rent will my friend get if they rent it out just the bottom floor for a month. Or the whole house?

Nowshera weather is same as rest of Pakistan. Cold in winter (+1c to +20c) and hot in summer (40 to 45C).

Well my friend is not there at the moment so that's why I'm asking, I heard that it may be about 7-8 thousand rupees for only one floor so about 14-16 for the whole property.
Because the house is in a colony is it a safe place to buy.
