PVC Overseas block vs Taj Residencia, which one is better

The event/update is warming up the market. Worth an investment for 6 odd months, to say the least.

My best bet on I-16.

Ground clearance:

Toyota Grande (sedan car): 140mm

Kia Sportage (compact SUV / crossover): 172mm

Yet, Sportage is not truly heavy-duty off-roader.

FWD = Front Wheel Drive
AWD = All Wheel Drive

(Pakwheels has all info)

Thanks Isloo1 sb.
Grande Ground clearance :

What about MG for off-road conditions?

That’s correct. Pakwheels has not updated its specs for grande 2021.

Altis Grande 2021: 175mm
Sportage AWD: 173mm
Sportage FWD: 163mm

Conclusion: Grande and Sportage off-roader have same ground clearance. It’s the city version Kia that is lower.

Thanks
It seems buying AWD or FWD Supportage is total waste of money if one is particular about off road drive, if one is having Grande?
MG seems better having 205mm?

Yousaf Sb,

The Kia sportage, Toyota Grande or Suzuki grand Vitara etc are SUVs (sports utility vehicle) , the pupose of SUVs are not only to drive off road to have high ground clearenace but due to thier back door opening , rear seat foldings, bigger wheel size, all wheel drive option (even if there is no full time 4X4 option like land cruiser , jeep etc, still all wheel drive is having better traction and grip then sedan two wheel) roof rack capability, stronger suspensions and high cabin space , with all this it become differtent usage car. compare to sedan , thou the ground clearance looking or is the same as sedan but you still feel easy to go in little mud or small rocky terrian.
sedans on other hand are good for smooth, fast and more comfortable drives purpose.
for the families with kids SUVs are usually considered more preffered as covering multiple type of needs.

Apology to all friends once again for being off topic…

For village roads, Fortuner is a better choice, being built on Hilux frame, it is the toughest beast in town. Though not so luxurious and not very comfy, with a price tag of 95 lac it is the SUV for “safaid posh”.

Sportage, Tucson, MG, Vitara, Vezel all are fancy urban toys, not the real heavy-duty work horses like Prado, Hilux/Fortuner and full LC.

Sohail: Toyota Grande is a sedan car, not SUV, It’s same old boring lame Toyota Corolla. :stuck_out_tongue:

(sorry folks, we boys just get carried away when there’s talk of cars. But let’s stop here before others get bored !).

Land cruisers, Prados, Firtuners are riches toys.
Was looking something lower on pocket & better on off road drive.
Anyways thanks all for help…
Let us dissolve right here to avoid boredom of others…

Glory 580 Pro (China ki Fortuner), all the way

Yes, it’s Chinese but proper 7-seater (Turbo) and one of the best in value for that money …

Sedan ki qeemat main 7-Seater Turbo (Intelligent SUV, as per company’s claim).

@Imtiaz, now that you’ve given entry, lagta hey ab yeh thread chalay ga.
Let’s ask Falcon to rename it to SUV :slightly_smiling_face:
(pun intended)

– Isloo: Too tempting to resist

(Guilty Pleasures, the right term)

This glory 580 is imported or Pak assembled, Imtiaz?

AQ sb, Now all local, only a few of the first units were imported (CBUs - Completely Built Units).

Pro is the loaded version and shape also differs between 580 & 580 pro

Yaar Imtiaz sb
Dum hay iss 580 garhi main
Lekin Grande itni Achi hay ke chorne ko Dil naheen karta.
Picks up like a " Jin", bus off road main problem hay. .
Pata naheen sub dost marne ko dorhte Hain agar MG ke ilawa doosri car Ka naam Lia jae…
Thanks for post

Corolla is World Class (across the globe, 70s to 2020s models all running on roads, to date) … Though we are unfortunate to get trimmed version which is the lowest end as far as global market!!

Well for a change of taste from a Sedan to SUV …

I remember a few years ago I saw a news item that BMW is in negotiations with govt to establish their plant somewhere in Karachi or Lahore and soon locally assembled beemers will be available in Pakistan - is this still on the cards or this plan has been canned

The news keeps surfacing since early 2000s and still in till 2020 but no concrete outcome of it, as of now.

Not sure, if the demand for them (German automobiles) is that can have much numbers to beging production/assembly locally or PAK as a point to assemble and send out elsewhere. To set up assembling units, one has to have enough unit sold and with rising inflations year after year not sure.

Best bet as far as German aitombiles can be, I say, at Volkswagen.

Also, to be politicly/factually correct about Auto Policy 2016
