I need information about property laws in Pakistan, is it possible for a grand daughter to inherit a share of her deceased grandfather's land without approval from her alive father? If yes, then how does she go about the process? What steps should she take? If no, then does it mean that the grand daughter has no right over the land unless her father wants to give her the land? Please help me.
Thanks!
Under Muslim personal law grand children do not have a direct right in their grandfather’s property.
If the children of the deceased are alive, then the sons and daughters are the one who will inherit their shares of 1 and 0.5 but not the grandchildren.
Agree with PK1 no inherit to Grand Children…
So it’s totally up to her alive father whether or not he wants to give her a share? She can’t legally claim her right?
Yes Ali Muhammad your understanding is correct.
