@ Zain, thanks for sharing the link, Yes DHA Peshawar was in pipe line for quiet some time, but don't you think it will be another dead investment like Regi Lalma, which is PDA project and waiting for the possession from last few decades with 40-50 % development work is also done, even zone 3 and 4 got possession but still people are reluctant to construct home due to disputed issues.
On the other hand DHA Peshawar is in the same area where Kuki Khail tribes are claiming / disputing the land, so how one can trust that it will be profitable and livable investment, as this tribes don't dispute till some developments starts, after when some thing comes on ground then only they comes out to make issues, like they did for Regi Lalma.
Well the army is involved in this one not PDA… Besides, they have cleared a lot of land that used to be an Afghan camp and nobody could dare go near it even. Yes, the tribes might create problems but it will be mainly towards their border areas. I don’t think DHA Peshawar will be as good as the other DHAs but still it is direly needed.

They have a lot of land in their possession but might be acquiring more in adjacent areas…
DHA will not launch the project without having land in their hand. There is a chance of small problems at the extremities but largely the project will surely be a success. My view is just based of DHA's past record and not on ground realities.
Army can do anything during the Zarb e Azb operation. KukiKhels will not dare to create major problems for Defence.
What about bahria peshawar ?? i have heard some rumors dat bahria is going to launch in peshawar??? any news regarding dat ??
DHA is always a safe investment and i think its very good investment for a longer period of time
In his recent press conference at London, Malik Riaz clearly said that we will not start any new project till Karachi is completed and some families start living in it. So Bahria is not expected to launch anything till Karachi. He gave vague hint of 6 months for Karachi.
So, the Altaf Hussain university was the result of carrot and stick policy. Anyhow, returning to the discussion. Bahria took a risk going to Karachi and competing with the existing societies there. Had they gone to areas like Multan, Peshawar, they would have had virgin markets. DHA is benefitting from this. Good investment planners they are.
Peshawar market is peanuts compared to Karachi.
So Bahria is after beauty, not virginity :-).

Also Peshawar market is not that simple virgin, already used once badly in similar area by kokikhails...
Is proposed DHA Peshawar located on the vacated Kacha Garhi camp (on main University road) or behind the Regi Lalma township (on Nasir Bagh road)?
Moreover, if proposed DHA is behind Regi Lalma township, will it help end/resolve the land dispute between Kuki khel tribe and PDA ?

Peshawar DHA will be a success of the kind never witnessed in KPK before , and may be it will have a shock wave for pindi and Lahore and to a minor extant even Karachi.WHY ? bcz in my opinion vast majority of educated middle class and business ppl shifted to pindi/Islamabad and Lahore for security reasons.
ONCE you have a beautiful gated secure area like DHA in the vicinity , it will work as a magnet for home-sicked KPK ppl living outside kPK ,in Punjab and sindh.
ONLY Islamabad will not be affected.
IF some one disagree ,he can trace the shifted population % of kpk to Punjab and sindh, and the reasons of their shifting.
I will love to stay in my own village ,provided i have the basic facilities/health/security/kids education/recreational activities and peaceful living.
You might be right DK. Let's see how DHA manages tribal people. But besides law and order, Peshawar has another problem which is Traffic on main artery of Peshawar. Unfortunately DHA is on the same university road.
I am born and spent all my life at less than 1 KM to that DHA site. I would never go back to live in DHA Peshawar.
Agreed with Dk and B.R Malik… Many educated and posh people have left Peshawar. It could be more than 60% of them. But then DHA will only provide a good residential facility. Good environment, jobs, law and order, traffic jam, etc are serious problems of the city which won’t attract people that much.
B.R.Malik saab .. Your point of environment outside future DHA is valid and is a good logic for being somewhat pessimism .
BUT i think PTI or some other future govs will make some metro type or other possible ways for this traffic congested areas etc.
Regarding your personal perspective of dejected response in turning back to the roots of origin ,IS ALSO LOGICAL AND MAKES SENSE , AS ISLAMABAD PROPER SECTOR RESIDENTS won't prefer such back moments..

At the moment, there is nothing good in Peshawar, which is necessary for living a peaceful and enjoyable life, everything is in chaos, whether it's traffic, roads, parks, shopping, restaurants. No good place for outing for people of Peshawar.
They have to come to Islamabad/Pindi for all these things, once DHA comes to Peshawar it'll give hope of improvement to some extents, even for those not living in DHA Peshawar will come for outing,shopping,food etc.
So it's a need of time and future for a developed and well maintained area there.
