Opportunities for overseas

What are the opportunities for investment i real state for overseas pakistanis? Do they need pakistan origin card to buy property in pakistan. Is it required for them to have a bank account in a pakistani bank? Are there any new reliable schemes where we can choose property online and pay installments online? Or is it all advisable to personally visit the scheme and make cash payments? I am particularly interested in gwadar but open for all reliable upcoming schemes.

No need of pakistan id card no need of acount if you have some reliable, yes there are good schemes on instalments,

Very good questions. I'm also looking for answers to the same. Appreciate if some gurus could take time to enlight us please.

Thanks in advance.

Don’t do anything online or over the phone. Be physically there, check everything out in person and in detail. Pay close attention to all papers and read everything you sign. Do your home work well in advance, this forum could be a good place to spend time and learn before your hand goes in your pocket for handing your hard-earned money to somebody else. You do need lots of time to educate yourself well, don’t take it easy, this is 3rd world brother. Don’t be discouraged though, returns here are way better than the developed world but needs time and attention.

Musafar sb, Many thanks for your kind advise.

Can you please also suggest suitable schemes at Gawadar which are available on installments and could get us good returns in 3-5 years time?

I second Mr Musafar you don’t need to have a bank account to buy property but it’s good to have one and also instea of origin card get NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD FOR OVERSEAS PKAKISTANIES(NICOP) it’s better and you can buy property and do any thing with that and although you don’t have to but with NICOP you can keep your Pakistani I.D card and you are considered Pakistani.

Kind of you Shakir Awan sahib. I don’t have knowledge of Gawadar to advise you specifically. Generally speaking, you get only files on instalments and files are definitely risky in our land of the pure, with no moral or legal standards. Buy smaller as per your budget but with possession to be safe, especially if you are overseas; and preferably in a decent society like DHA or bahria in my humble opinion. Prices currently are for buyers in most places.

Gwadar is again in the lime-light here in Real Estate Market. Many people are talking about it, and talks are very captivating.

Remember 2002-2004 year? Lot of people invested in Gwadar, bought files/plots on installment, built huge castles & kept day-dreaming...but all this gone with the wind. However people who invested on ground in Gwadar and bought plots in societies like "Singhar housing" was gainers. Do'nt be trapped again,Go & visit it personally.Analyse the locations & developers. If you don't have such time then invest in the societies like DHA & Bahira or societies with good past-record & enjoy peace of mind. :)

I agree 100% with Musafar. Only invest in good places like DHA or Bahria and with good builders where you know your money and real estate documentation is safe.

Also, only invest if you have immediate family members there who you can trust with your cash. Finally, it is very important to know your place, where you are buying.
