Im a non-resident pakistani living in the u.S. For 20 years. If i come to pakistan to buy a plot and construct a house, will i still be considered non-resident or resident of pakistan?
Non-resident, probably. Unless you spend 183 days during a tax-year.
Or you spend 120 days here this tax year when the cumulative total number of days spent in Pakistan during past 4 tax years are higher than 365.
Ali Kamran thanks for your reply. Well as I said, i want to construct a house which will take at least 1 year to complete so i will have to stay here for a year. Does this mean I will no longer be a non-resident pakistani?
Yes, sir, my understanding is that you will be considered a resident Pakistani for that tax year.
