pac? Political Action Committee? Lets see what comes out of it. I think they can complete because PML n has a good trackr record when it comes to infrastructural developments.

PMLN have good track record of developments but it was Mian sb who criticized New Islamabad Airport and announced the Rawat Airport plan. Members of Public Accounts Committee visited New Islamabad Airport yesterday and they were shocked. See details in the link below from Daily Jang. Uncertainty floats on the project. Not good news for zone-2 investors.
Well PAC/NS and all others are interested in earning more money from some new endavour, as they have nothing left to get from this very airport, Pity.
Frankly, I do not see any problem with this news. This was a routine job for PAC to inspect a mega project from the audit point of view. They are not the decision-makers and if anything can come out of this visit, would be good for the airport. Which, in my view would get govt's attention and get into fast track of completion.
Rawat industrial zone and Rawat airport serves a completely different purpose. People will understand the difference when scattered pieces of National Trade Corridor (motorways, bridges, gwadar port, airports, industrial zone, etc.) will come together to form the single economic backbone of this country.
Isloo is right. PAC has opposition members in it and they will make an issue for nawaz sharif if the speed of work is not picked up soon.
This visit is good news. This will spur the government into action otherwise all this could become a scandal. So Mian sahab has no option but to hurry up with fateh jang project.
Rawat project can happen in the next 20 years if Malik Riaz can continue with his idea for that long.

I am disappointed by the project director's comment that he expects airport to be functional in 2016. So it is not 2014 or 2015. Also he expects to be needing more money to acquire more land and needs help in sorting out water supply issue.
PAC will probably probe into corruption and other in-competencies of the team/consultants who worked on this airport. Lets see if that can help speed things up - and lets pray that it does not stall the project.
I think GOVT should plan for water supply solution not just for the airport but whole of Zone 2. Water will eventually be a big issue in this whole area.
There is still loads of work required at new airport, real work begins after buildings are completed as Airport buildings are very high tech requiring loads of HiTech Systems and installations , etc etc...plus funding related issues especially when we are going for another war with terrorists
Unfortunately I dont see it operational in next 3 years at least......may be much longer ::::((
