@Intern Sir, it makes no difference for such a tycoon in Pakistan like Malik Riaz or Mian Aamir that who is ruling. U should know that idea of Margalla Tunnel & Rawat Airport was very favorite plans of Malik. Therefore there are rumors in RWP/ISD that there is an understanding between Malik & Nawaz Govt. Particularly if both or any one plan matures. Malik had already purchased a big land across Margalla. U must know that Malik thekedar sponsored punjab govt in Aashiana Scheme. As far as NHA/CDA r concerned, bhai paisay mein bari power hey. Now if media takes this KH realignment, the i am convinced Mian sb. Will cancel this plan. Because it seems that Mian is looking v. Serious or at least for some time. Again i rapeat that this realignment suits to Malik Riaz the most.
I have heard that pechs management has blocked road access for airport staff vehicles .
But i saw today using this route. May be.
I think it is the most appropriate response as of now since a lot of public money has already gone into the Fateh Jang Site. Similarly the suggestion of a new road link to the new airport should be quashed at least for now. Both the new airport and the connecting road network through the most logical Kashmir Highway should be completed by June 2014.

I have just read that story in "The News". I would not get into the debate of which road is better. But having had a very brief association with the media in the early part of my career, I feel something is just not right with these stories...same author, writing articles within days on same story and there is no objectivity in the reporting either, he has a clear tilt towards favouring one side...maybe we are getting into a media campaign mode.
I would not be surprised if we soon read a series of stories by some other reporter, "favouring" the new road. Then it will be an all out media war, and this matter could get very tricky for the decision makers. But one should hope for the best.

Amjad sb. No doubt same auther, same story. May be a paid. But Allah equiped us with wisdom and sense. !):- There r z one route for which NHA is working for last 4 yrs. Completely survey has been carried out. Almost all land acquired. Less cost. This road will start 4rom M1/M2 Junction (near Motorway zero point). Approx. 4 Km piece to be build. Interchange at GT road will be required. Addition of 1/2 lanes required on rest of the road upto Toll Plaza. 2):- Entirely new road 2nd route (approx 14 km) passing thru partition of I-& H- sectors and approaches heavily conjested Haji Camp choke Golra Mor Where a big interchange will be constructed. Also a bridge will be required at M1. Story does not end here. Then comes to 3/4 Km narrow piece of road bounded by Furniture shops and Army Depot. To widen it, land is to be purchased from these stakeholders. Now Amjad bhai pl. Decide it
Dear Ali sb you seem to be correct in your suggestions, I have no reason to dispute any of the information you have shared. I was merely pointing out the fact that we need to be cautious about these media stories becoz once the media starts making things controversial, it can put a lot of things in jeopardy...in this case, the airport opening might get delayed.
Personally, I favor the KH route....But becoz I have invested in JKCHS which stands to benefit from this route, I do not wish to become a part of the "which road" debate becoz of an obvious conflict of interest on my part. Even though the facts as mentioned by you, clearly support this option.
@ dear Amjad/Ali/Ch Shahid, I totally share your concerns and appreciate you all for such good service that you are doing. The New Islamabad Air Port is a mega structure of strategic dimension for which detailed studies and consultation must have been done prior to start of the Project. I am sure every possible angle must have been viewed in depth and detail and decision taken. In the instant case the process commenced nearly half a decade earlier. Foreign / local consultants were hired, scores of discussions held and a deliberate decision taken at the most professional/formal levels. I am sure all these factors must have been tested against given parameters using the latest professional software available. Changing decisions on personal whims in a jiffy at this stage of the Project can hardly be termed as a pragmatic process unless some very sound and serious observations/reasons have emerged that were not considered or addressed earlier. I have not read any such observations in the media as yet. Having said that I am sure better professional sense will prevail for timely completion of the Project by the revised date as we have already lost many very valuable years. Thanks & regards

(it is my estimate, may be more than this figure).Where as NHA estimated 5 billions on previous design. The main culprit behind the scene is Riaz Thekedar & his corrupt collaborators inofficers of NHA, CDA, CAA & Defence. Later on Shujaat Azeem also involved. Thanks to CJ Supreme court who kicked him out.
@ Amjad sb. Sir, which route suits us it does not matter. The thing is why to invest Billions of billions on a road which is highly inappropriate for NBBIA or VVIP movement. While the old design cost of 5 billions was estimated by NHA itsself. In my opinion, new route costs many fold. @ Khalid sb. Sir, thanks for ur compliments. @ ALI We should wait till nespak feasibilty study comes out . By the way it is BOT project . Govt will provide only land rest of the funds will be invested by contractor.
So when is the deadline for this road to be fully complete?
Within 7 to 8 months once started.I think its before june 2014.
