Meanwhile, a source working on the site called the new completion date “laughable”, recalling a conversation he had with the express tribune in the summer of 2014, when he had said the airport would take at least five years to complete if everything is smooth sailing from here onwards. “it hasn’t been smooth sailing,” he added.
Since then, a number of new completion deadlines have come and gone, but the airport remains far from functional. Sources in the caa and contractors working on the site told the express tribune that the new deadline would also be a “long shot”.
Shah g NIIA will be operational in coming August 2017 InshaALLAH.
Shah jee, the road network be completed by the first quarter of 2017, In Sha Allah... No doubt in that...
Getting the airport operational in 2017 end, is also possible... However, one thing is for sure, that this government will make this airport operational before they start their campaign for next elections in 2018...
So, things are moving in positive direction at the moment... Kal kiya hojana hy, no one knows, but only ALLAH ALMIGHTY...

Not possible. May be a few test flights as drama. Airport is not a joke; compliance with IATA itself will take a lot of time plus there is testing and commissioning of all equipment and logistics. Things like Airport ground Power Unit, Ground Support Equipment etc. These take time to be functionally ready.

i'm new here
Just read this forum today and I’m amazed that how people share such rumors without confirming about them. Express Tribune should have mention the source if they were sharing something like this. I think CPEC and Kashmir Highway are in process of operationalization very fast just because NIIA has to be functional by next year
What is the latest on NIIA Airport, could some one advise.....
Lots of rumors are in air and people are sharing their thoughts in this forum as well.
