Recently, vendors have announced that they would unveil new construction material rates on April 15 – when the government plans to lift the lockdown restrictions on construction activities throughout the country.
The construction material rates are already increasing in the market. And these dealers know that after the lockdown lifts on April 14, there is going to be surely an increase in demand for these materials. So they are using this as an opportunity for hiking the construction material rates.
Given the ongoing circumstances, this is quite unethical. Many people have already halted their constructions and would now probably have to pay more just to complete their projects.
In light of the PM’s incentive package for the construction sector, I think these retail and wholesale dealers should display leniency – especially considering the prevailing plight in the construction sector.
