As I had promised in another thread, I am posting the latest pictures of the work on the Margalla Avenue and Sangjani interchange project for the benefit of forum members. You can click on the pictures to enlarge and view its description on the bottom left corner. Here is the link:

Pictures were taken on an off-day.
Sir link not found =(…
Amjad bhai thanks for the update. I was planning to go but couldn't get a chance over the past few weeks
Best regards
Very Nice, Informative, Thanks alot Amjad bhai.
Amjad Sb, Allah khush rkhay…
Thanks Amjad. Can you please tell me that where is the exact T intersection point of Margalla Road and Gt Road. Thanks
Thanks, appreciated.
Thank you all for the appreciation.
@Arshad Khan. Margalla Avenue (MA)will not form a T-junction with GT road but will be linked through slip roads. MA ends about 100 meters before GT Road (as you can see in the pictures also) because the plan is to build a bridge/flyover over the GT Road to extend MA till the sangjani interchange through a new road whose feasibility report has already been prepared.
The access point for the slip roads is located about 75-100 meters after the Fecto Cement factory road on your left when you are coming from Taxila side.
Thanks a lot Amjad Sb.. Much appreciated :)
Just a thought.. Isn't MA a bit narrow on each side?
It is not narrow, it is under construction, it is a big road.
Great effort sir…
It was planned as a wider road. But due to cost and land acquisition issues, the decision was made by the previous government to revise the design and make it narrow. I will see if i can dig out the link.
I think it looks like 2 lane sadly
The width of Margalla Avenue is the same as that of the Existing Kashmir Highway, it is a four lane road i.e. Two lanes each side, which should be good enough for now.
Yes, it is big enough.
Any one knows how MA will be linked with B-17 ?
Rehman bhai it will not be linked directly. Multi is not paying for its construction so why should they link it to Multi's project. From B-17 you will have to come to GT Road and then get on to Margalla Avenue.
In the future if it is extended to cross through Zone 2, then Multi will construct a link to the extended Margalla Avenue.
This is what Multi Officers are saying. If you ask them about when Margalla Avenue will cross Zone 2 and reach Motorway, they have no idea as it depends on CDA. And you know how tough it is for CDA to acquire land and take possession of land. Even in the first part of MA there are issues of land so the extended portion will be a bigger challenge. May be 10 years or less or more. Who knows.
Once Margalla Avenue will be opened, its next phase will come into consideration. When approved, the AWT management would like to get that phase completed soon and if they decide on that, you will see the second portion getting developed much faster…there is a good reason why the govt gives some difficult projects to FWO and NLC at much higher rates, its because they can deal with troublemakers much more effectively (read “Dunda”). Although I am not aware of any plan to link Margalla Avenue to B-17 as part of its design.
Many thanks for sharing the update Syed Sb,
These are some concrete steps which zone-2 investors are hoping and looking for prosperity and more investors pooling in this year.
Cheers,
