The government has announced that it will operationalise the low-risk industries (including construction) soon. Amid the coronavirus crises, when the economic wheel is all but jammed, this news was welcomed by many. In this press briefing, Minister Hammad Azhar said that the brick kilns, stone crushers, and units manufacturing pre fabrication material will be opened in the initial phase. No date has been announced for the reopening of the low-risk industries as of yet.
The government also announced that the opening of the construction sites is something provinces do not agree on. The Sindh government is looking to delay it, while Punjab and KP are all for the reopening of the construction sites.
Would you care to comment on how it will impact the real estate in the mega scheme of things?
This coronavirus situation is an evolving one, and the reopening of low risk industries does pose some threat of another wave. Do you guys agree with the government’s decision?
How do you see this sudden interest in real estate and the construction sector panning out? Even when they resume working, how long till the sector sees actual recovery? Will people really be interested in investing at this time?
