Likely Pakistan ELECTION WINNER? Who do you want to win and why?

This is just a general discussion on elections and the effect of your vote that it would have on the real estate in Pakistan?

Who is likely to win the 2013 Pakistan elections? Out of Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif? What would be better for the ecomony?

I personally would support Imran Khan mainly due to the cancer hospital he built, i have faith in him that he can really turn the country around that would really boost the economy and the real estate prices would rise rapidly. However, the right hand men he has from the other parties seem to put me off and i think its putting alot of people off from voting for him.

So who is likely to win so far?...Not long left now?

Who is likely to or would improve the country?

Please don’t specify any political party or any political personality infact no politics over here.

Dear abdul ali,

The question that worries is me not who will win.

The real questions are (i) whether any party will win a simple majority i.E. 50% of the seats?; and (ii) whether polling will successfully take place on the election day?

A split result with no clear winner shows polarization, a fragmented society and lack of unity among the people. In ordinary circumstances, there is nothing wrong with split results and coalition government. But in the present circumstances where pakistan faces huge crises, there is a desperate need for a decisive and clear winner who can establish a string government without lotacracy. Unfortunately, the pakistanis collectively are not sufficiently united.

Also, we have very difficult law and order problems and voter turnout is likely to be affected. Also, candidates, their polling agents and party workers can be targeted before and on election day. This will mean that the losing parties may refuse to fully accept the election results. Some parties may even ask for intervention of third forces.
