I'm interested in shifting my dairy farm from karachi to islamabad/rawalpindi.
There are a couple of factors for me to consider:
1. Location - must be close to other dairy farms to ease supply chain issues. Close to market, close to feed supply.
2. Security - i'm coming from karachi. Enough said!
3. Access to water - this is key for any dairy farm.
4. Value for money. I'm looking for a minimum of 4 acres (32 kanal) on a budget.
Any suggestions?
If you want to purchase cheap land near Islamabad/Rawalpindi, I would prefer Rawat, Taxila or Chakri.
If you looking a rented place then near Golra more, Tarlai,Barakhaoo Islamabad plenty villages you can visit it.
Get a 10 Kanal farm house plot in MPCHS, Multi Orchards, you can also get 3/4 plots each of 10 kanal which can fulfill your requirement those too on installments possession in July 2014, if you opt to buy a plot inside Islamabad, such as Chak Shahzad farm houses or Murree Orchards, those will be too expensive plus there are restrictions by the Government for certain things.
Anyways, this again depends on your budget.
Wish you best of luck.
How many cattle do you have?
I have my own dairy farm and I depending on size I can rent to you
Thanks
Thank you all for the replies so far. It's been very helpful.
I'm definitely looking to buy instead of rent. The farm size is 150-200 heads of cattle so I need at least 2 acres (16 Kanals) within a budget of about 10-15 million.
Definitely outside the main city, given my budget. I was thinking of Sihala, Rawat or Kahuta.
Which will be more suitable for dairy farming and in terms of security?
Omar.
Dear Omar,
I would personally suggest Sihala for ease of transports.
Why have you decided to move to Pindi, is it no longer profitable to be in the dairy business in Karachi?
What about murree side I mean on murree road anywhere after the barakahu till murree green areas enough water available and no security issues
The idea of Nasir Sb regarding Multi Residencia do makes a good sense. It would be a profitable investment as well as used for ur desired purpose. Do visit that place one. Regards
@AliAhmed. Sihala does look promising. Thanks for the advice on ease of transport.
I'm only leaving Karachi because of security.
Dairy farming here is still quite profitable and the cash flow favors the farmer. We do have to farm quite intensively in terms of pushing productivity to remain competitive but it's still a very desirable business.
Look around thallian interchange near new airport. Already dozens of dairy farms exist there.
