Investment risks in Karachi

The News are not good from Karachi, the reluctance of the Supreme court to extend any relief to the residents of Nasla Tower is making everyone panic. I want to ask the property experts here, is this going to impact the real estate development sector In Karachi? and Do you think SC will also be doing the same in Lahore?

It happened in ISB too, elite protected by the court, going out of the way and punishing the comonner even with slightest of violations/irregularity.

Will happen the same across PAK, though elites will buy out whatever it takes! It depends from which perspective we look at it.

this time, the Supreme Court is looking at it differently and the way it has commented on DHA Karachi is also suggesting the intentions are not good… right?

If even a single brick moved from DH or BT, I will call it fair

@nauman.ahmad_1 I don’t think demolishing of Nasla Tower will have any impact on Karachi RE market.

Yes, courts will do the same to everyone who has no political or institutional clout, which means 99% common Pakistanis. While it will “regularize” illegal properties of the powerful including the one in PM office now.

The divide is not between Karachi and Lahore, if you are implying that. It is between “haves” and “have-nots”, wherever they are.

well you have a point there, but the way things have changed and the way court is moving towards real estate first with the encroachment drive along Nullah and now against high rises. I am anticipating if, if this continued, it will change things in Punjab as well. as Punjab has developed a large unregulated residential schemes.

Let me simplify,

Litmus Test: There is a Project, pretty much at the heart of the Capital with all inflientials have an apartment there, including the current PM and it’s called Once Constitution Avenue. You will find all sort of illegalities and litigations there.

Saqib Nisar on his last day in Office Regularised that.

Here you go, tye same law:

The day, one saw court even raises an eye brow on such projects, we will say court is moving Fairly. Remeber, for the court or law, their movement matters least, moving ‘fairly’ is what matters most.

well, the good thing is Sindh is going to form a commission for regularisation. Punjab has already done so. but that’s not the permanent solution as after a time, this commission regulates every illegal thing and that is where the problem lies. In my opinion, SC orders were needed to halt the encroachment and should continue.
