Interesting Facts About Islamabad

I bet you didn't know this about Islamabad!

Did you know this about Islamabad?

What is it about?

Makes for very good reading. Well done Samra.

Here are ten more reasons I have found :

  1. It is less flashy. There is less conspicuous consumer consumption than Karachi and Lahore.

  2. It has a small community feel and it’s easy for friends to pop over.

  3. The mountains are lovely and there are lots of outdoor activities, like climbing and hiking.

  4. You can find a wider range of eateries with perfect ambiance and environment.

  5. It’s not too polluted and you can breathe better.

  6. There are always new people to meet, people are always coming and going. Its a mix of all the cultures representing Pakistan (Pathans, Punjabis, Sindhis, Balochis).

  7. The city is also a stopping point for tourists who desire to proceed to the Northern Areas of the country for trekking, hiking, adventure sports and mountaineering

  8. It’s more diverse and international than your average Pakistani city. All of the country's diplomatic ties are maintained and exercised from Islamabad, as all major embassies, consulates and missions are operating from the city, as is the Foreign Office.

  9. It’s less cliquish and materialistic than Karachi, and more intellectual and professional than Lahore.

  10. It’s not Pindi!

@samra

those living from 60's are not natives,infact natives are those POTOHARI villagers who sold their land to CDA FOR AS LOW AS 700 PER kanal in 1960,natives belong to places like SIADPUR,HUMAK,SIHALA,talhar and many other small villages many of which don't have a physical existance anymore,furthermore natives are those who lived here from centuries i.e: potoharis and today they are not even 10 % of population
