Nothing will happen due to simplest fact that:
- We, the Pakistani folks are too obsessed with plots and more plots.
&
- There are very less other investment opportunities (Stocks gets a blood bath) almost each other month. Gents are way too lazy to explore forex and stuff.
&
- Entrepreneurship or ventures are a turn off, buying a new plot is a turn on.
Till the point, we are buying these old generation Toyotas and Hondas in range of 4 - 5 million + the Own, increase whatever tax, our desires (speaking in general), to buy one more plot will even escalate!

Yes Isloo, like any other emerging economies or even for the developed western part Real Estate remains one of the classical and preferred investment portfolios.
However, as the point remains, those folks tend to diversify their investment portfolio alongside real estate. Indians and Chinese as neighbors are a classy examples that do invest in real estate but have other options or a preference for other investments too.
This is why our icon of success remains the likes of Malik Riaz etc. while the Indians and Chinese have the likes of guys ruling Microsoft to Twitter to Google and Alibaba etc. etc.
Here most amnesty is for Real Estate while IT sector is being strageled with new taxes and every often we see GST increasing on Internet connectivity. This is the sort of system, we have built for us …
@Its_ImtiaX_88, I guess FBR has not fully backed out from its position to impose heavy property taxes. Revoke news was just to suppress public outcry.
Presumably this tax hike is due to worsening economic situation and IMF pressure.
