The islamabad high court (ihc) recently declared the park view city’s noc to be illegal. Park view is owned by punjab senior minister aleem khan. Moreover, the court observed that ‘regularization’ facilitated illegal construction activity in return for a negligible fine.
Will aleem khan now go for regularization? Of course he will. And the cda men would accept the ‘regularization fee’ with a smirk the size of durand line.
In light of court orders, is regularization really the answer to all housing malpractices? What about the vast swathes that are uprooted to facilitate the construction of the so-called state-of-the-art housing projects? The practice wherein civic agencies allow private builders to get their projects regularized in return for some fee is prevalent across the country.
