Highrises without proper studies, an impending disaster!

New highrise projects are being introduced left and right. Especially in Lahore, where LDA has allowed 300 ft high buildings. Ref: LDA to offer ‘free-height’ regulations for high-rises- Zameen News

With underground water tables, gas, sewerage and power resources already stretched thin, how will these projects fare? The administration is making Lahore into new Karachi - and all in the name of construction progress.

And then they announce these laughable measurements: TEPA Lahore proposes changes in building bylaws- Zameen News

Rooftop gardening? Are you kidding me? Are the plazas here even built for that? Since they lack proper infrastructure in the first place? I work in a mid-rise infested with rats and sewerage issues, and a locked fire escape.

Who will enforce the regulations? If this continues, we will all be living in a concrete jungle with ‘Nasla Tower’ type occurrences becoming the new normal. Agree?

this has been on my mind for a long. more than 70% of Lahore is either illegal or is not feasible for highrises yet there are multi-storey highrise buildings now on every corner. take for example Gulberg. it is a posh area but is not built to sustain highrise buildings. the traffic load is unmanageable. I am afraid someday Supreme Court will start taking notices and we will c these buildings going down one by one. Punjabi citizens are already not a fan of apartment living.
