Google map updation time frame

After how much time google map is updated
?

Dear Mr Ali,

I personally think that Google updates its maps on a continuous basis and it's hard to say when a particular area will be updated.

Moreover, the reliability of available content may also be a factor backing the frequency of updating Google Maps.

Well this is my personal take, IT experts may have a better answer to it.

I think once a year Google updates it , AND that’s close to SEPTEMBER each year.

Different area has different timings. Western countries get updates quickly as more users are dependent on google maps. Area like Pakistan are updated randomly. Sometime update comes in 4 months and some times more than 1 year.

I agree with Zain that imaging takes a lot of time. Clear weather is also required.

Google updates its imagery based on developments on ground. Usually images get updated every 3 months for very active areas (e.g. Metro project), about 1 year for normally developing areas (most societies) and several years for most areas (rural).

I think it depends on the locality or area of the specific place, generally Google satellite view is updated every two weeks and its very according to the location.Google Maps satellite images are not updated in real time; however, Google adds data to their Primary Database on a regular basis. Google Earth support states that most of the images on Google maps are no more than 3 years old

There are many places, for example in the middle east, where maps are more than 5 years old. I think their policy is not based on time factor.
