- When will they update google earth for islamabad area. Most of the imagery is 9-10 months old? February/march 2013. In lahore it is either march or april 2013.

Google earth imagery will always be several months old. I don’t think that google earth will help you much in determining the height of your plot. It is best to visit the area personally.
YOU CAN GET AN IDEA BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHK THE HEIGHT.
Yes, an idea of the location can be determined, but height can not be determined from Google Earth, in UK, USA and Canada, it is up to date, don’t know why in Pakistan, it is always old with old images and not clear.
Quite accurate idea of height can be taken from GoogleEarth. Look at the bottom of the screen after placing the cursor on the exact location of your plot. It will give you eye altitude (but that is not what u need). It will also show you elevation in feet. This is the precise height of your plot. If you move the cursor you can also see the elevation of road and you will know if you have a natural basement.
Newer imagery (31 Oct 2013) has been made available for certain areas today such as Multi Orchards!

But Apple it is a tool which is very very relevant to plots. You can measure the depth of each part of your plot with Google Earth.
If someone is outside Pakistan he can see the height of his plot in comparison to the surrounding area. Pardesi is just asking how reliable is this data. I think it is a very good question.
