What is the major difference in farm house plots and a normal residential plot? Why are farm house plots much larger but cheaper than a residential plot? Is bedian farm house plot safe investment and can I make a permanent residence there.

Not much difference. You can build a house for normal living as well. But mostly people construct it a bit differently with swimming pool, hut type construction etc.
Usually, farmhouse schemes are located a bit far from the city so are cheaper because raw land is cheap plus the rich can afford the extra fuel cost for daily commute or an extra house for occasional weekend trips.
Also, generally speaking, larger plots are always cheaper than smaller plots on per Marla basis. This is because of two reasons - One, smaller plots are more expensive to develop as they require more streets etc. Two, there is a stronger market for smaller plots as more people can afford the lower price range.
Bedian Road societies are good investment because DHA new phases are nearby and the price increase of DHA, will push up the price of the whole region.
