False ceiling pros and cons

I would like to know the pros and cons of using false ceiling from people who have had it in their homes for some time. Also, i have some questions:

1. Is it high maintenance?
2. Does it gather dust?
3. Does it develop cracks or fall off?
4. What are the things to consider when installing false ceilings?
5. Are there false ceilings that are packed from the sides to not allowed dust to settle in it?

1. False ceilings are not high maintenance at all.

2. Between the false ceiling and the actual ceiling? Yes, it does.

3. It can if the work does is not of good quality I suppose.
