The single glazing cost around 550 per sqft......it depends on the location of your property....If its on the main road than double glaze if not than single would be fine and in bahria single works because not much traffic
@H–T, does double glaze only prevents noise/sound proofs? As per my knowledge, they are mostly used for insulating the room. I.e. To keep it warm/cold for longer durations. So it does not matter whether house is in Bahria Town or not or whether it’s on main road or in some dead end street. If the weather is extreme then Double Glaze Windows are the solution. In Pakistan as both weathers are extreme so if it’s not heavy on the cost one must prefer these.

Now from a thermal insulation perspective:
Double glazing of windows helps in reducing heat transfer into (and out of a building) by a process called refraction. Refraction is proven to provide both heat insulation as well as superior insulation. Therefore, if budget permits, do go for double glazing (reasonable costs are around 625-650 per sft)
However, windows only account for 30% of heat transfer, whereas 50% occur through the roof and walls of a building. If heat insulation is your main objective, then you should insulate your house using commonly available insulation materials (EPS, PU or XPS). The best out of these is EPS in terms of value for money. This would cost a bare 55 per sft in proper specification. In doing this, you can avoid double glazing of windows if only you provide decent air ventilation in your house. You will be amazed that the exact same effects will be achieved with literally half the cost.
