Below is my analysis
1.Location :

If we consider ghazi road as a reference point.
From referance point to dha phase 6 main boluverad ( aveneu 6 entrance) is 8 km while from
Phase 9 touching boundry at anmol housing society is around 10-10.5 km( approx as no roads there) to ghazi road.
Phase 9 form mota singh wala to ghazi road is 11.3 km
The diff is almost about 1-3 km overall in almost all areas of lahore and phase 6 is actually closer than phase 9 to the reference points.
Location : on dha official map it looks bad but in reality it isnt that bad.

Town planning
Dha could have done a better job. It seems they squeezed every inch.
However for my park loving friends i suggest you take your date on a classy restaurant instead of parks or you need to go to family planning instead of town planning dha.For jogging , exercise phase 9 has more than adequate facilities on map , no matter the size of the park if you complain about park size, 99% of the time i guarantee its the size of your belly making the park look small.
Dha map looks congested look closely they have given every plot number on map , its supposed to look congested.
As far as roads are concerned they are fine, in my opinion roads dont need to be straight they should be a little arbitary to create diversity ( look at bahria). It also helps to navigate on disimilar roads.I get lost in square blocks because i am stupid.

Good......Phase 9 was made for stupids like me your cleverness has been wasted.
I have downloaded the black and white map and i must say dha has done a very poor job in presenting it in fauji style.

Village pockets.
Nothing new here old business.Villages in dha restore my faith in humanity although i would not like my humaity resotered everyday by a facing village plot.Anyhow kudos to village people for sticking it to the man.
It is very premature to say about phase 9 but to say it was all hype will be wrong if properly developed it will surpass phase 6 that is my analysis if not than it will remain a little below phase 6.
If dha decides to do it fauji style tab aik he saaf ma khara ho jae ge mahmood aur ayaz.
