DHA Homes - Demand for Additional Funds by DHA

DHA recently sent letters to its balloted members to pay additional amount of Rs 2.65 million for completion of homes. This is in addition to actual agreed cost of Rs 4.2 million paid by members in full back in 2012.
I request members to advice what exactly should be done in this scenario. The additional amount DHA demanding is almost 63% of the actual cost. The second option they are giving is to take 5m back. Even if we have kept Rs 4.2 m in bank, it would have been more than 9m now.

Please suggest what should be done.

Have a look at the agreement you signed initially, there must be a clause for this so you cannot really take a legal approach.

Considering the fact that 8marla DHA home is easily 9million + so it is still not a bad deal. These days a possession plot in DHA valley cost 4-4.5million so a 2 story constructed house for 2.6million is not bad. In future DHA valley and surrounding areas will appreciate further because of

1. Natural appreciation
2. Ring road
3. DHA valley is trying to deliver plots to affectees now.

No doubt DHA valley murdered the innocent plot owners and earned a filthy reputation. They will never come clean in this regard.
But now probably best time to invest or keep investment in ballotted & possessed blocks which are very few now.
These homes @ 68 Lacs in total price are still not a bad buy.
After Oleander & Lilly blocks ( where DHA homes are located), get house construction which is very near, DHA homes can easily reach to more than 1 crore…as per my little knowledge after handover 1.5 crore would be min price tag In Shaa Allah.
Go ahead and pay the extra money …you will be in better shape In Shaa Allah.

So it means there is no way out other than to pay. Similarly there is no guarantee that they will complete the house and will not ask for additional money at the time of handing over

Never know whether or not they would ask for more.
But I think not likely as when valley fraud was exercised, things were very different …no one had courage to talk against DHA or MR…now check YouTube and you will be surprised to watch what is being blamed/said against DHA management.
In fact it is the affectees pressure which made GHQ to get on feet to deliver.
Before court never heard valley Case and kept giving dates but now hearings are happening. Before DHA rep refused to attend the cases but now they are appearing in court.
Before GHQ used to pay 1000s per Kanal to land owners but now offering crores per Kanal and people are refusing to give land…
