I bought a plot in dha phase 5 where i gave 5 lac as advance and the date we fixed for whole payment is 10 june but now i want to extend it. My property dealer says that dha has many rules and they will not extend the dates etc. Is it true? Or is there a way to extend the date. I want few days to pay whole payment but they are not helping me out and saying my advance payment will be lost…
Hi,
Amber dha has nothing to do with that. Its the dealer who is trying to fool you. Don't get carried away and try to develop a mutual understanding with the dealer for extending the payment date. But if dealer does not agree, then you can go to the dha office and get a stay on the plot, but before 10 june. In this way dealer wont be able to transfer the plot to anyone else and secondly your 5 lacs (advancement payment) would also be saved. Kindly, update me about your contract with the dealer, so that i could provide you more information. Regards, Z@in n@deem
Hi Amber,
Zain is right. DHA has no such law for plots. Token money, or biyana, or advance is not refundable yes. But you only lose the money if you decide to back off from the deal without buying the property. In your case however, all you want is to get an extension in the payment date. This does not warrant your token money to be confiscated.
As Zain mentioned it above as well, there is definitely something fishy going on. Don't let the agent play you for a fool and get in touch with the DHA authorities as soon as you can.
Best of luck. :)
