In a recent development, Prime Minister Imran Khan revealed the deadline for the construction sector’s amnesty scheme launched in wake of the coronavirus crises. Khan has advised the construction industry to avail the amnesty scheme before December 31.
He has explained that due to Pakistan’s obligation to the FATF, the government would be unable to provide a similar amnesty scheme for the construction sector after the said deadline. Meanwhile, the FATF had also extended the deadline for making all the required changes until October due to the prevailing pandemic situation. Previously, the deadline was set for April.
The question is that despite some positive signs that the coronavirus was fading away from the country, can we be sure that by the end of this year we’ll be back on track with our business activities and the economy would be improving? Let’s hope for the best.
