What are the latest prices for steel, cement, bricks and crush. What is the best cement and steel brand for average home construction. Capital steel is good for construction. What grade to use grade 40 or 60.

i have asked in ghauri town islamabad and got following rates in that area

this rate is after reaching my plot with carriage except steel .....it differs if ur plot is some other area
Thanks Hamid for your update. I am from Jhelum area, any idea of prices here. What about Capital steel quality. (my contractor recommend me this steel grade 40)

No i dont have idea of rates in jhelum city…im using grade 40 steel …try to get steel from factory as it will be according to weight which they tell…repute of steel factory can be found out by surveying 2,3 steel providers

for steel 40 grade is good enough. Make sure you DO NOT get the commercial grade.
steel should be flexible and should not snap on bending. It should be of proper gauge (thickness)
cement is around 510 per bag.
average bricks would cost you around 8500 for 1000 bricks
What mean by “commercial grade”
Commercial garde steel is steel with no grade.....
the grade in steel represent its tensile strength
for example
40 grade steel has a minimum tensile strength of 40,000 psi
60 grade steel has a minimum tensile strength of 60,000 psi
commercial grade steel could be 10,000 psi or 60,000 psi.... It has no determined strength.
hope you understand this. So what u really need is
40 grade steel , must be full gauge, must be flexible( should not snap on bending)

I don't know about capital steel.. Never heard of it, we usually use Pak steel or ithead steel.
you can not check the grade of steel from a local vendor, u can only ask them. But if you buy it from the mill they have laboratory in there. U can personally go in there and they would run a test on a sample of the steel to check the grade. Or you can take a sample of steel from a local vendor and take it to any construction material laboratory in your area and get the grade checked from there.
these are the only two ways to get it checked.
otherwise take experienced person with you when buying steel.

Yes you can get it delivered where ever u like …!u just have to pay extra for carriage … So get it delivered in 1 or 2 big chunks as you would not have to pay carriage over and over again … The address you have is right
