Any updates on this very critical issue (stone crushing dust & continuous blasting noise) in B-17?
We know that B-17's success is dependent on 2 things: High living standards and MA completion, specially for those who are planning to live here.
But the living standards would be zero if you have to deal with this continues loud blasting noise on daily basis and the stone crushing dust particles causing severe lung and respiratory health issues.
I wonder if the oversees community aware of this, would ever want to live here as this is a very serious issue.

Elevated dust levels in that area can lead to silicosis a kind of cancer. …
Gohar, Supreme Court had passed a judgement restraining the crushers to work in the hills close to B-17 some 2 years ago. As per my knowledge the petition stated the -ve effect of crushers on environment. However you have to understand that the livelihoods of these people are dependant on Crushers. So they have found other ways of keeping up with there work. In essence, i think it is something B-17 will have to come to terms with. I had stated these concerns around 1 year back on this forum in B-17 thread. At that time ppl thought that i was some property dealer with vested Interest .LMAO.
There is no doubt that margalla hills stone crushing units is a serious issue affecting environment.
Regards
@ Nadeem Sir, I agree with you on that. But realistically speaking B-17 also has water issue which is more severe than environmental issue.
If its true, then its very serious and worst negative point , and my question is , that no one has ever taken it seriously,
Fine dust is very dangerous, can accumulate in lungs and ,lungs coverings and can cause,
1= bronchial asthma
2=restrictive lung diseases [ shortness of breath]
3=silicosis etc
SO in long run 3-5 years all those who live in catchment areas of that fine crushing dust will definitely be affected,
WHAT THE SOCIETY THINK ABOUT THIS????
How people are living in B block if there is water issue?i am not sure about water issue.this is all Multi responsibility who never ever care this project.
Regards
Nadeem bhai ,i have not seen b-17 areas ,my informations are based on other ppl observations,
I was making my mind for investment in b-17 or its farm areas, but if this crush news are correct , its a serious issue, i ask you please ,if you have seen the area yourself , as how much is the distance bet these crush stone areas and b-17 residential areas?
@ Nadeem Ahmed. Sir, have you visited B-17 lately? It is not like a densely populated area. However, the water issue i am referring to is the sub surface water. There is scarcity of sub surface water in that area. Consider 5 years time, then people living in the area will definitely have a water issue as even the Capital of Pakistan is suffering from water shortage. I don't know about the status of natural gas supply in B-17. If it is available ,very good; otherwise overhead expenses will definitely increase for inhabitants of B-17.
@ Dk B-17 A block is adjacent to the mountains Nadeem Sahib is referring to...
Dear Dk,
i visited in last Dec and after a month in Eid holidays i am going vacation then i can update you more.
It was really very good project and i invested much in E block but i am sorry to say Multi is totally failure in this project to resolve different issues.
Crush stone area is very near to B-17.
Regards
The hills are almost eaten up by the crushers anyway. In a few years time, there will be no Margalla Hills in B17… Probably they will move to the other side of GT road for crushing or Taxila if there are any hills there.
I have been to these stone crushers. B-17 is very near. I have heard that Taxila has high incidence of kidney stones. Supreme Court case result was that additional taxes were imposed on crushers. Nothing else happened. Crushing is still going on.
B-17 is very near. No one can deny environmental impact on B-17. A lot left of margalla hills to be crushed.
Sir Nadeem. The area of B- 17 has scarce underground water. Any water supply other than underground sources is bound to run short in say 5 years time when the society gets relatively populated. That was my Point.
I am not sure about the gas availability in B-17. If natural gas is available ,very good; else it is going to increase the overhead cost of living .
I simply can't understand if this is such a big issue which appears to me, is a big one. How the society was able to ignore it all together before developing the whole project over such a long period......And how on earth people who bought plots there specially for living, ignored the impact of this on the living standards and ultimately the price evaluation.
...Just confused because so many people have bought here and are waiting to build there houses once MA is completed. How could they ignore this.
...Can somebody make sense out of all this.....specially those who know the place and area better than us.
...Is it not that big of a issue???
If we establish that B-17 is directly affected by this, then are the other neighbouring societies like D-17, E17 etc are also indirectly affected by this?
... And it may also have an impact on new CDA sectors like C14,C15,16 etc?.
The dust issue is in block A of B-17 which is very close to Crushing hills. That,s why block A prices are 30-40 % less than B-block .
The water depth in B-17 start from 180-250 ft. Which is quiet deep compare to other Islamabad areas where water depth start from 90-150 ft.
Because of this reason B-17 management build a big lake inside sector A to full fill water demand.
I wish some well wisher of B-17 come forward with some counter arguments, and explain the genuine queries of common ppl.
If no can counter the concerns of genuine critics, then investments in B-17 is very risky??
The lake in A block remain empty at dead level due to technical flaws and no one is getting water from society…everyone need to dig his own bore…
@DK the management of MPCHS is highly corrupt they pay heavy bribes to get their illegal projects approved from CDA…I donnt know how many of you know the emblizzlement of billions of ruppees in white elephant project northern strip…only poor and novice members need to bear all that extra cost…
I am not sure if this stone crushing will ever be stopped. They have been there for decades and these guys are well connected.
I reckon many of the buyers remained unaware of it as this aspect was intentionally kept in shade by multi promoters and dealers. Quite Unethical in my view!
Overall frantic marketing has paid off well to multi dealers and investors but future residents should have some serious concerns in their minds.
