AWT D - 18 Sangjani Toll Plaza Suspended By Senate

The toll plaza was supposed to be open in Feb 2014. I have read in the news that some senators have asked why it was given to AWT? Is the construction currently suspended? If this toll plaza is cancelled, I think prices will come down from 4 million to 4 lac. I did not find any discussion on this except for a minor mention in one reply.

Yes i wanna know this aswell.it was due in feb 2014…any updates any one???

I visited AWT and other societies on Saturday 22 March 2014, Interchange work was in progress, as told by person on work, it was temporarily suspended for 2 weeks but resumed about 3 weeks back. Work on southern loop is near completion, mainly one culvert is left which will also get completed in a week - 10 days time and than other formalities like toll plaza cabins on both sides etc would require 2-3 weeks at slowest speed. My guess, God willing, it will get completed in all respects by 4-5 Weeks time that is Early May. Moreover some Major Retired Qasim has constructed 2nd house in AWT society close to motorway interchange near eastern boundary wall, his huge double story gray structure on 2 Kanal area is complete and it might get fully completed even before interchange, earlier one house was constructed some time back but no one is living there.

I visited AWT on 23rd March,2014. North interchange loop is complete and they are making a BRIDGE On the South interchange loop. In my personal opinion i think its going to take 3 more month before the interchange opens.

It’s really strange but I have heard from people travelling on motorway that no work is going on. I hope it’s not true as I also invested there last year but the news had been disappointing

Interchange or no interchange, genuine buyers seem to be reluctant to come to AWT. The price hike was mainly due to investors involvement, and was also influenced by the price hike in other societies. This is my personal feeling and you may or may not agree.

Ali1 u r right, i went by motorway last saturday, to my surprise there was no development going on what so ever.

thanks

Dear Ali, Khan Sb - I visited this area 2 weeks back. Basically drove from Ministry of commerce to AWT and then Wapda town. I did notice they were working on one small bridge that connects one of the interchange links to motorway.

I personally dont like the development standard of AWT - but interchange is going to give it a good boast (infact it has already received some part of that boast with prices multiplying).

From personal stand point - someone like me will be more tempted to invest elsewhere where price of same 1 kanal is lower and more houses - like E-18 which is not rated highly (albeit only 2 kms from fateh jang motorway interchange + plenty of people already living there + few operational commercial units). In 30 lacs you can find a good 50x90 there today.

I DO NOT KNOW WHY SOME PPL HERE CREATE AMBIGUITY ABOUT THE INTERCHANGE HERE AND OTHER POSTS, MAYBE FOR VESTED INTEREST. ANY ONE NEGATING PROGRESS ON INTERCHANGE MAY GO AND SEE FOR HIMSELF, MEET PPL THERE AND COMMENT. MORE OVER ONE OF THE PROPERTY DEALER THERE ADVISED ME TO WAIT FOR 2 MONTHS AND WHEN INTERCHANGE IS OPENED THAN SELL THE PLOT. GOD BLESS HIM FOR NOT BEING HIPPOCRATIC FOR HIS GREED. ANY ONE INTERESTED IN BUYING OR SELLING MUST VISIT ONCE EVERY THING WILL BE CRYSTAL CLEAR. DO NOT BELIEVE ON FAKE EXPERTS HERE. GOD BLESS EVERY ONE

Agreed with niaz. The work is in progress and there is no ambiguity about the opening of interchange in near future. Most likely, in May or June it will be inaugurated.
