CDA plans to develop a ‘twin capital’ near Islamabad. The project is expected to cost Rs.12 billion and the project will be spawned over an area of 25000 acres.
Really interesting blog. Explain a lot and raises many eyebrows
Seems like a GWADAR and Park Enclave like SCAM from Govt. Just to ROB money from people and then go to sleep
Agree with intern. Just a way of new gov to fill its pockets.
@Intern. I agree with your views as such projects require a Very long time for planning followed by development and certainly seem beyond the scope of a 5 year tenure govt grappling with an economic mess. Though the intention might be simply to benefit some ppl rather than directly looting the public.
Personally, I think these projects are headed the same way where the "bullet train" went...everyone remembers the bullet trains, right?!!
Sir lets not be too cynical.
Every great idea seems stupid when conceived and every great idea starts with an impossible dream. From the dream of flying to the idea of facebook, it must have been started with efforts that could be described as waste of time and energy.
We should try to see it with an open mind and heart.
Old wine in new bottle. Estimated cost is 12 Billion US Dollars. Influential's from all walks of life have already purchased land at very cheap rates in area adjacent to Margalla Hills in KPK (NWFP) Proposed Zone-6 & Economic Zone.
Proposed Tunnel in Margalla Hills is a serious environmental threat.

Imran Opposes The new City project: At least one of our leader is thinking outside the box. I love the term Builder "Mafia" he used. HPost Reply ttp://www.arynews.tv/en/index.php/pakistan/national/9624-imran-opposes-settlement-of-a-new-city-amidst-margalla-hills
PS: I have no political views and do not support Imran or any other leader!
Old wine in new bottle actually means expensive stuff in a cheap casing..... What i think that the new city is meant for the rich only keeping in mind the move of zardari to Lahore one may even think that Islamabad is not luxurious enough
And how can a tunnel bring environmental hazards? i have seen many tunnels on the way to Quetta… Saw no environmental hazards though
Guys read the blog. It will give further information about the project.
Apprently the project seems good, will add to the real estate sector and infrastructure of our beloved country, but i am not certain how aa common man will benefit form the project. Country got some other priorities as well.

This is a dream project, even if they start implementation, it will take hell of a lifetime.
