Sialkot: Deputy Commissioner Dr Nasir Mehmood Bashir and District Police Officer Captain (retired) Mustansir Feroz recently stated that a wholesome plan would be charted for the resolution of the city’s traffic issues, a news source reported.

They expressed their views on the matter during a meeting wherein they said that the ‘smart city surveillance system’ would be developed with input from stakeholders. Sialkot Assistant Commissioner Javeria Maqbool Randhawa, Traffic Police Deputy Superintendent Mazhar Fareed, MO Infrastructure Tahir Sheikh, and officials concerned were all present at the occasion.

DC Nasir Mehmood stated that the installation and construction of digital traffic signals, traffic signs, cat eyes, zebra crossing, lane and line marking, and speed breakers would be initiated under the command of the Municipal Corporation.

As for the wrong parking, a lifter has been borrowed to deal with the problem and more will be bought soon, he added.
