Karachi: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) recently announced its plan to execute a project study to accurately determine the country’s commodities’ needs over the next five years (2020-2025), according to news sources.

An official stated that understanding the structure and increase in demand for essential commodities was crucial for decision-making in the current operating mechanism and for devising expansion strategies.
This study will cover various factors, including market research and data collection through reliable international and local sources, sector-wise demand estimations in line with all market variables, and estimation of total national demand.

An official document from the trading firm revealed that the TCP was thinking about engaging the services of an educational institution/consultancy firm to conduct the research required to estimate the national demand for various commodities. This would allow the corporation to get a more effective and accurate estimation of commodities like wheat, urea, seeds, and pesticides etc.
