Rawalpindi: In a meeting held to greet the newly-appointed Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, the representatives of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries shared their suggestions with regard to the relocation of wholesale markets along the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project route, a news source reported.

These individuals also requested the RDA chairman to address the business community’s issues in Raja Bazar and other markets. Talking about the proposed relocation of the wholesale markets along the RRR route, the traders said that due to traffic issues, the existing wholesale markets in the city could not carry out their routine business activity. They requested the civic agency to allocate land for moving these markets along the RRR loop.

In response, the RDA chairman said that the development authority would consider their suggestions and focus on addressing the issues of the city’s business community. He further stated that RDA Chief Architect Shuja Ali and other officials would soon pay a visit to the RRR site along with traders to form comprehensive suggestions on this front.
