Karachi: The Sindh government on Thursday notified a five-percent reduction in the sales tax rate for medical professionals providing healthcare services across the province, a news source reported. According to the Sindh Revenue Board (SRB), the revised tax rates are scheduled to come into effect starting February 15.

Currently, the provincial sales tax rate stands at 10% while the normal rate of sales tax on services is 13%. After February 15, professionals providing personal and health care services will be charged a sales tax of 8%.
According to the notification, the reduced rate will be available to services provided by salons, beauty clinics, body massage centres, pedicure centers, healthcare centers, gyms, and physical fitness centres.

However, the notification also mentions that the service providers opting for the the reduced rate of sales tax will not be entitled to claim input tax adjustment facility against the services provided.
