Karachi: A sub-committee of the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development recently expressed its displeasure over the cases of illegal occupation of plots owned by overseas Pakistanis in Mehran Town, Karachi — a news source reported.

The sub-committee directed the relevant officials of Karachi Development Authority to speed up the investigation on the matter. The panel also recommended that a committee should be formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Sindh, aimed at ensuring that the aforementioned illegally occupied land is vacated.
DIG East Karachi Amir Farooqui also requested the Rangers’ support in order to make the operation for the recovery of the money a success in Mehran.

Additionally, the committee resolved to write a letter to Chief Minister Sindh and Chief Secretary Sindh to look into the matter, and was also of the view that a meeting with all stakeholders was imperative to finally settle this issue.
