Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to compensate the 92 affectees of Bheka Syedan village; located at the centre of the city’s Sector F-11 zone — according to new sources.

The case pertaining to the payment of compensation to the affectees was heard by a three-member bench of the SC, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial. The court directed the CDA to pay the victims of the case that had already been verified by a commission; with the remaining affectees to be judged by the high court in accordance with the law.
The apex court was informed by the counsel of the victims that this case has been pending since 2009.

Previously, a commission was constituted on the directives of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to resolve the issue of payment of compensation to the victims of land acquisition by the CDA. In turn, the commission ordered the development authority to resolve the problems of the affectees of various areas of the city, including Sector E-12, Bheka Syedan village in Sector F-11, Sector I-11, Sector I-12, Submal Korak village and Golra Sharif village.
