Rawalpindi: The process to identify land required for developing the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) part that will connect Rawat and Murat in Fateh Jang has been completed, according to a news report. This will help the concerned authority to initiate the land-acquisition process.

The civic agency has yet to mark the land to be acquired for the seven-kilometre-long road part connecting Murat with Sangjani. As per reports, Zeeruk International – the project consultant – has also initiated the process to prepare RRR’s feasibility study.

As per the last report shared in this regard, the document that specified details on the land in 27 mouzas mentioned that 14,600 kanals of land will acquired for the RRR project. In a previous development, it was decided that RRR will be merged with Islamabad Ring Road project, extended the circular loop to 66 kilometres where the ring road will encircle the Islamabad International Airport and head to Zero Point before ending at Radio Pakistan building on GT Road in Rawat.

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is the executive agency for the RRR project, but details on which authority will look after the construction of Islamabad Ring Road have not been announced as of yet.
