The illegal housing schemes in Rawalpindi are located in 29 different mouzas of the city. The RDA has placed a ban on the sale, transfer, and advertisement of all properties in these projects. Reportedly, the Anti-Corruption Department (ACD) is also keeping an eye on the dealings of these societies.

The ACD director has instructed the stakeholders to contact the department in case of a complaint. Sources also claim that people have invested billions of rupees in these projects while no mechanism is in place to retrieve the money. The measures taken now will save new buyers from falling prey to marketing gimmicks used by the developers of illegal and unapproved housing schemes.
