Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has conducted an operation against illegal housing schemes situated along Adyala Road, a news source reported. The authority demolished the site offices of six such housing societies during the operation.

RDA spokesman Hafiz Muhammad Irfan stated that the authority’s officials demolished the boundary walls of several under-construction houses within the illegal projects. He added that they removed several billboards, along with electric poles, using heavy machinery.
Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi district administration has also issued a list of nine illegal housing projects located around New Islamabad Airport and Motorway Chakri Interchange. Additionally, it has initiated action against 12 more illegal housing schemes.

An official of the district administration revealed that they had initiated the operation against the illegal housing projects in the city on December 2 last year, which is still in progress. The official added that they have been demolishing the site offices of all illegal housing projects during this operation.
