Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday provided his approval to the development of safari park on a 500-acre area in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan, a news source reported. He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting.

Provincial Wildlife & Fisheries Minister Asad Khkokhar, secretaries of relevant departments, DG wildlife, and senior officials were all present at the occasion.
CM Buzdar said that South Punjab had been lacking in recreational facilities. He directed the officials concerned to execute the project on a timely basis and provide recreational facilities to the people of DG Khan.

According to reports, the attraction is expected to feature a children’s park, one big and four small enclosures for animals, and other recreational facilities.
In a separate development, CM Buzdar met a delegation from the Bahawalpur Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BWCCI) and emphasised the participation of women in the industrial sector.

In response, the BWCCI proposed the holding of Rohi Mela in Bahawalpur and CM Buzdar welcomed the proposal; saying that regional festivals help in promoting the local handicrafts.
He informed the delegation that the provincial government would notify the establishment on four special economic zones (SEZs), set for development in the province’s less-developed areas, on a timely basis.

He further stated that the provincial executive had devised a programme to provide soft loans to women and youth in the province.
