Lahore: According to a survey conducted by the Excise & Taxation Department, the rents around the province increased between 30% and 35% and the ratio of property tax is also expected to rise by the same amount – a news source reported.

Excise department is conducting the sample survey of rented commercial and residential buildings around the province and the sample surveys had earlier been submitted. However, a committee established under Additional Director General Excise has directed the various Excise Directors around the provinces to submit 50,000 sample surveys for their areas. Under this, each excise circle will have to submit sample surveys of at least 10 commercial and residential in the area.

The new property taxes and the relevant valuation tables will be issued on the basis of the sample surveys submitted so far.
