Rawalpindi: Federal Minister of Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan recently announced that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will be laying down the foundation stone of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project in June, a news source reported.

The minister stated that the project is expected to cost an estimated amount of PKR 55 billion. Furthermore, according to sources, the authorities concerned will complete the project within three years’ time.
Meanwhile, sources have also revealed that the acquisition of an estimated 146,000 kanals of land is underway for the project. Recently, the Punjab government had issued a notification for the imposition of Section 4 for acquiring the land required.

The RRR project spans from Rawat Channi Mor to Sangjani, and is 38 kilometres long. Additionally, the project also includes the land of 27 Mouzas of the NA-59 and NA-63 of the National Assembly. Now, it also comprises the agricultural and barren land, along with the building of the Governmnet Primary School Gogra.

Meanwhile, the authorities concerned have decided to move the school to a nearby building, acquired on rent.
