Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday directed the authorities concerned to waive off additional taxes and inspection, in addition to cancelling 150 license requirements, for the country’s small shopkeepers and business operatives, a news source reported. He further stated that the government was committed to facilitating the business community.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting wherein he directed the officials concerned to abolish 74 licenses of unnecessary nature. He further announced the government’s decision to abolish the license requirement for 102 business and gave a 30-day deadline for the execution of these directives.
PM Khan reaffirmed the executive’s resolve to aid the business community and directed the officials concerned to simplify the process for obtaining required licenses, as well as issued instructions for the introduction of an automated system for the said task.

Moreover, he emphasised the need for businessmen to pay their taxes and become a contributor to the nation’s progress. He opined that there should be a realisation that the ‘public money needs to be respected’ and that he has started the initiative with himself.
