Multan: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aamer Khattak on Thursday stated that the Punjab government had released funds worth PKR 420 million for various uplift projects in the city, a news source reported.

The DC revealed this information during a meeting. He stated that the authorities concerned had begun paperwork for various projects in the city. These projects pertained to the Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA), health sector, and education departments.
The DC informed the meeting that work on Nishtar Hospital-II was underway. He added that the department concerned had commenced with the mobilisation of machinery at the project’s site. On the other hand, he directed the relevant officials to complete the uplift projects within their stipulated deadlines.
Expressing his dismay over slow pace of work on the projects, he also ordered the officials to ensure transparency in the use of the development funds.

Meanwhile, the parliamentarians present at the meeting stated that they would not show tolerance for any objections from the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) pertaining to the replacement of transformers in the city.
