Lahore: The Murree Improvement Trust (MIT) recently announced its decision to hand over the developmental responsibility for completing the Murree Bulk Water Supply project to the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority, a news source reported.

This decision was announced during a meeting of the MIT, which was chaired by Provincial Minister for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed. The minister said that it was the government’s top priority to provide clean drinking water to the residents of Murree.

The meeting discussed the conditions of the city and made decisions about various issues, including clean water supply, illegal encroachments, traffic problems, and the development of residence structures under the MIT scheme.

The meeting recommended that a campaign would be launched against encroachments to preserve the natural beauty of the mountainous area. Additionally, the development of a parking space near Jheeka was approved to help minimize traffic problems.

Mahmood ur Rasheed directed the officials that maps of residences to be built under the MIT scheme should be approved soon to initiate legal constructions of structures in the area. He also took the time to instruct the authorities concerned to complete all ongoing development projects in the city by June.
