Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Governing Body has sanctioned an approval for collection of development charges from LDA City plot owners at discounted rates, according to news sources.

This decision was announced during a meeting of the governing body; presided over by LDA Vice Chairman S M Imran on Tuesday. The LDA announced to slash the development charges by 50% in July 2019.
The development work for this project has been estimated to cost PKR 2.3 million per kanal – with the owners of 1-kanal plots expected to pay only half the said amount. Similarly, the owners of 10-marla plots are required to deposit PKR 690,000 instead of PKR 1.38 million, whereas 5-marla plot owners need to pay PKR 400,000 out of the total PKR 800,000.

Further, the meeting provided its sanction for the issuance of smart cards to the individuals who own property in Jubilee Town, Mustafa Town and LDA Avenue-1 – in a bid to prevent forgeries and impersonations of property transfers.

The meeting also gave it approval to the amendments proposed in the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2019; in addition to introducing revisions to the draft of the Land Use Rules 2019.
